Now that the Open Enrollment Period (OEP) has ended, you'll need to experience a qualifying life event to enroll in a qualified health insurance plan. Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, you can only enroll in a qualified health plan during the Open Enrollment Period (OEP) or during a special enrollment period if you experience a qualifying life event that changes your insurance status. Qualifying life events are determined by the federal government.
Additionally, you can get temporary insurance that will cover you until the next Open Enrollment Period (OEP).
